If anyone’s wondering what Andre Agassi’s been doing since retiring, well i’ve got the scoop.

Just this December, he had been participating in several exhibitions, one with James Blake in Norfolk, VA; the other with Andy Roddick in Boca Raton, FL. But the one I’m excited most about is the mixed doubles exhibition with his wife, Steffi Graf, which happened last December 8 in Richmond, VA . Well, a friend of mine, Karina, has sent me pics from the 2006 Genworth Financial Children’s Advantage Classic (lucky girl, she got to watch live!, and for a good cause, too!).  Steffi and Andre went against two of the best players on the current WTA and ATP tours (well, up until then; now that Davenport’s pregnant, I guess she’ll announce her retirement soon), Lindsay Davenport and James Blake. They won, of course! The Agassis, I mean. Here are some scans:

As I add up posts in this category, you’ll see how much I love this pair! I believe they’re one of those couples who give meaning to the phrase “meant to be together.” Not convinced? Look at this pic showing what they’ve been up to outside of tennis while enjoying retirement:

Well, this one’s a paparazzi shot, I believe. Taken while the family’s enjoying a trip to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. Just look at that, ain’t that sweet? After seven years together and two children! Awww! Someday, I’ll narrate their love story. It’s a great thing , you’ll see… 

With these two, you’ll kinda expect that their children will hit the tennis courts as soon as they can walk. It’s almost a crime if they won’t learn tennis! But here’s a funny story about Andre giving tennis lessons to a woman who won that honor in an auction (well that woman is a very rich woman anyway, and a very good tennis player I’ve read). At the end of their lesson, before Andre said goodbye, he apparently said that he needs to go to the pro shop in town. You’ll think, to buy tennis gear? Nah, to sign up his kids for a lesson!

“Dad is Andre Agassi and mom is Steffi Graf, winner of 22 Grand Slam titles. And they need tennis lessons?

Agassi shrugged: “They don’t listen to anything we say.”
